Second Chance After the Rapture?

Q.    The “Left Behind” films suggest that backslidden Christians get a second chance during the Tribulation, although it may cost them their lives for refusing the Mark of the Beast. Is this so?

A.   This is not at all true. In fact, the deception is a serious one and the authors of the “Left Behind” series will answer to God for leading tens of thousands to embrace this damnable and costly error.

The next great event in Human History will be when the Lord Jesus comes to fetch His Bride, the Church. Every Child of God will be caught away to meet the Lord in the air – 1 Thess 4:13-18 – and this is often referred to as the Rapture of the Church. We shall then be with our Lord for seven years at the Marriage of the Lamb and also at the Judgment Seat of Christ where believers will receive their rewards.

The Rapture brings to a conclusion the Age of Grace, also known as the Day of the Gentiles. The Gentiles will have had their opportunity as God turns to deal specifically with the Jews to get them ready, through terrible troubles, for the Revelation when Christ returns to the earth with His Bride for His 1,000-year reign of peace, the Millennium.

There is not the slightest hint in Scripture that Gentiles will be saved during the Tribulation period. In fact 2 Thess 2:7 tells that the Holy Spirit, holding back the mystery of iniquity, and delaying the emergence of the Man of Sin, the Antichrist, will do this until He is “taken out of the way.” “He who now letteth (hinders)” refers to the Holy Spirit operating in the lives of God’s Children to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment.

If the Holy Spirit is withdrawn with the Church, how on earth will any Gentile come to repentance and salvation? Their best efforts would be “of works” – Eph 2:8-9, which cannot save them.

NOW is the Day of Salvation; TODAY hear God’s voice and respond to Him. Please don’t trade on the false security of a second chance in the Tribulation; you will not get it.
