The Father

The Father

The Father

2 Corinthians 4:13 – “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written (Ps 116:10), I believe, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe and therefore speak…..”

We believe that the Father is in Heaven upon His throne and yet omnipresent (present everywhere). He is also omniscient (all knowing) and omnipotent (all powerful). He has a very deep and detailed interest in each individual and has sent His Son and also the Holy Spirit to administer His salvation to us. He requires us to do His will on earth.

The Father is God, and is referred to many times in the scriptures (1 Corinthians 8:6; 2 Corinthians 1:3; Matthew 11:27; John 6:27, 45; 13:3; Romans 1:7; 15:6; Galatians 1:1).  The Father’s plan of salvation is being carried out by His Son, Jesus Christ, under the anointing and direction of the Holy Ghost (Luke 4:1).

The scriptures declare that God our Saviour will have all men to be saved, and come unto the knowledge of the truth.  For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.  God is love, and the Father has an intense desire and longing that all men should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).

The Father gave the Lord Jesus a commandment, what He should say and what He should speak.  He only spoke those things which His Father gave Him to speak.  (John 12:49 - 50).  The Father and the Son are one (John 10:30) and are united in their purpose.  The Lord Jesus is obedient to His father’s commandments and always pleases Him (John 8:29).

The scriptures clearly state that the Father has delivered all things unto the Son.  No man knows the Son, save the Father, and no man knows the Father, save the Son, and He to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him.  Without coming to know Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, you will not come to know the Father.

God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).

Once the Lord Jesus has completed the Father’s plan, then the end will come, when He shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.  And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all (1 Corinthians 15:24 - 28).
