Care for the Aged

Care for the Aged

Q. My 81yr old Mom is in hospital with very low blood pressure. The cardiologist is not giving us much hope and we can’t decide about a pacemaker for her. What shall we do?

A. If your Mom was strong and healthy before her heart problem, then a pacemaker is a viable consideration. On the other hand, if she was weak and sickly, it would only prolong her poor quality of life. If she loves the Lord, passing on would be instant glory for her! If she doesn’t know the Lord, keep her alive as long as possible, ministering Jesus to her so that she may be saved!

This may sound cold and clinical, but it’s not. My wife and I have lost a dear son, and our precious parents, and we have only compassion for you. But, face the issues full on in the Presence of the God of All Comfort, Who is with you, will guide you and see you through this crisis; rest in His peace.

Very important, whenever you’re between a rock and a hard place, call on the Elders to help. God gives such men into His Body to help us through our (in)decisions! Trust them as they lead you.
