Q. God loves us no matter how we feel about Him but I cannot believe that I have to accept Jesus Christ to gain life after death.
A. Oh, you will exist forever after death; God made you a creature of Eternity. But there are two kinds of existence. One is without Jesus Christ in eternal misery and regret and this is hardly life; it’s actually called spiritual death, which is eternal separation from God.
The other kind is Eternal Life, with God, in the fullest and most glorious relationship. And this is only found through the Lord Jesus.
Let me tell you why Jesus is the only Way. Firstly, He said so – John 14:6 – and made it clear that “no man comes to the Father but by Me.” To believe that there are many ways to God other than Jesus, you would have to discount everything that God says in the Bible.
If you don’t believe in Jesus, what do you hold as your way or entrance into Eternal Life? Since spiritual things cannot be proven in a science lab, your hope has to be based in faith. You seem to believe in God and you’ve probably been guided in this faith by the Bible. But the Bible declares Jesus to be God’s Way of Salvation.
As I share what God’s Word says, you’ll feel the Holy Spirit’s tug at your heart to believe it. If you do, you’ll be saved; if you don’t, you’ll be lost – forever! And the choice is yours; God has already chosen to love you; but He will never force you to come to Him.
We are all born into sin; no one is innocent. No one has to teach a child to lie; it comes naturally. He has to be taught to be honest, which does not come naturally! This is the sinful nature we’re all born with. We all need a Saviour.
God has never sinned and, because He is holy, He can’t stand sin. His holy nature demands that anyone who sins must die – Rom 6:23. But because He loves us and wants to be merciful, He sent His Son, Jesus, to die in my place, your place, our place. When He died God poured His wrath and judgment for our sins out on Jesus. All we have to do is believe that, repent of our sins, ask Him to forgive us and receive Him as our Lord and Saviour. Then He will change you from what you are into a Child of God, cleansed, forgiven, accepted – forever!
It’s your choice; choose wisely, choose Jesus as your Lord and Saviour – today!
